This past Monday, September 9, the Kimberley & District Chamber of Commerce hosted the All Candidates Forum for our upcoming municipal by-election. Thank you to the Chamber of Commerce for arranging the event, Centre 64 for providing such a lovely venue, and all my fellow candidates for sharing their passion and commitment to our community.
The Chamber provided Candidates with some questions in advance, and the public had an opportunity to submit questions as well. All the questions were thoughtful and demonstrated the deep love for Kimberley the residents here have. If one thing is striking, it is that we all just want Kimberley to be the best place it can be.
One more advance poll date is Wednesday, September 18th, and election day is Saturday, September 21. Voting is open from 8 am-8 pm at Centennial Centre, 100 4th Ave Kimberley.
I have enjoyed connecting with people in the community and learning about them, why they chose Kimberley, and what is important to them. In my closing statement, I shared that, of Kimberley’s many strengths, the most powerful has to be the people who live here. People are why we have so many of the things that make us special, and people are what make our community great.
Feel free to come into Mountain Grass Gallery + Bistro during our business hours (Tuesday – Saturday, 11-6) for a chat in the coming week. I look forward to one last week of campaigning and hearing everyone’s unique reasons for choosing Kimberley!
